Who we are
MedEquity is an independent, student-founded public health education and research project covering Texas counties. It is not affiliated with any government body or any medical institution. Questions about this policy can be sent through the contact page.
Browsing the site
The site is a set of static pages. Maps, comparisons and analyses run entirely in your browser using data files published with the site; nothing you select is sent to us. Fonts are served from our own pages, not from a third-party font service.
Your selections (for example the indicator, county or period you are viewing) are kept in the page address so you can bookmark or share them. They never include personal information. If you share a link, anyone with it will see the same selections.
Like any website, the service that hosts these pages may automatically record standard technical request data (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) in its server logs for security and reliability. We do not use these logs to identify or profile visitors. When a hosting provider is selected for public launch, it will be named here along with its log-retention period.
What is stored in your browser
MedEquity stores only the items below, in your browser’s local storage. They are not cookies, are not sent to any server, and you can delete them at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings. See the Cookie Policy for details.

Contact messages
The contact form is not yet connected to a delivery service, so messages are not currently transmitted to us. If you use the form, your message stays on your device; you may copy it to send another way.
When a delivery service is connected, this policy will be updated first. At that point:
- Only the fields you complete will be sent. Your name is optional, and an email address is needed only if you ask for a reply.
- Messages will be used only to respond to you, review a correction or consider a collaboration — never for marketing, and never sold or shared for advertising.
- The service provider and how long messages are kept will be stated here.
Please never include personal medical information in a message. MedEquity cannot give personal medical advice.
Links to other websites
Articles and the source catalog link to official sources such as the CDC, NIH, MedlinePlus and HRSA. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply once you leave MedEquity.
Children
MedEquity is an educational resource suitable for students. Because the site collects no personal information to browse, children can use it without sharing any. Children under 13 should not send personal information through the contact form.
Your choices
- You can use every part of the site without saving anything in your browser.
- You can remove saved preferences at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
- Because we hold no personal information about visitors, there is no account or profile to access, correct or delete.
Changes to this policy
If our practices change — for example, if a contact service or privacy-focused analytics is added — this page will be updated before the change takes effect, and the effective date above will change.
